MOSCOW, August 29 - RAPSI. The Moscow Audit Chamber has discovered that 651.3 million rubles ($22.5 million) of Moscow government funds for the development of mass media in the city were embezzled between 2008 and 2010, the Chamber reported on its web site.

The Moscow government spent 24.293 billion rubles ($841.4 million) on television, radio, and newspapers from the general budget, while Moscow district authorities spent an additional 356.6 million rubles," the report reads.

In particular, three stations - TV Center, TV Stolitsa and Radio-Center - spent 15.298 billion rubles between 2008 and 2010.

The Chamber uncovered that 651.3 million rubles in subsidies and investments were spent in an unauthorized manner, of which 363.1 million rubles were spent in manner classified as "waste."
