MOSCOW, October 28 - RAPSI. Law enforcement agencies detained on Thursday the head of a Moscow tax inspectorate, on suspicion of taking a $99,000 bribe, the Federal Tax Service (FNS) said.

According to FNS, tax inspectors extorted a bribe from the head of a large commercial entity for covering up detected tax offenses and protection during tax inspection.

The money were delivered in two stages. At the first stage, the money was handed over to the inspector inside a car near the tax inspectorate. On having received 3 million rubles, Svetlana Romanicheva was detained. She agreed to cooperate with the investigation.

According to FNS, currently the materials have been filed to the investigation authorities for opening a criminal case.
