BARNAUL, November 25 - RAPSI. The Republic of Altai Supreme Court reversed on Thursday a district court's fine of $7,950 imposed on former republican Finance Minister Svetlana Gashkina for bribing a pretrial detention center's officer with brandy and chocolate; the case has been remanded for review, the court told RIA Novosti on Friday.

In February Gashkina offered a pretrial detention center's officer a bottle of brandy and a chocolate bar for arranging a meeting with her nephew without obtaining investigators' permission. The bribe was estimated at 774 rubles ($24.6).

"The Supreme Court has reversed the trial court's decision and referred the case for reconsideration by another panel of judges," a court official said.
