MOSCOW, January 30 - RAPSI. Police officers have detained acting CEO of a state-run company in Moscow who allegedly sold his office for $1.5 million, the Interior Ministry's economic security department reported on Monday.

According to the law enforcement source, the company in question is the Central Federal District's Landscaping and Waste Disposal Center.

The department says a 34-year-old acting General Director offered his position to an applicant in exchange for 45 million rubles ($1.5 million). For this purpose he used mediatory services of a 60-year-old unemployed individual.

Criminal cases have been opened for attempted fraud and adding and abetting in corrupt practices. The suspects are facing lengthy prison terms.
