MOSCOW, April 2 - RAPSI. Former St. Petersburg police head Mikhail Sukhodolsky intends to sue former Interior Minister Anatoly Kulikov seeking to refute the statement about his "alleged inclination for corruption."

Kulikov said during a TV broadcast that yet before Sukhodolsky took the office of St. Petersburg police head he already had a luxurious car accepted as a gift.

"I have self-respect and I will file a defamation suit," said Sukhodolsky, adding that the relevant documents will be prepared and submitted to the court soon.

Sukhodolsky also alleged that such false statements might be a part of the on-going campaign to discredit him.

The police earlier initiated a fraud case against a security agency run by Sukhodolsky. His son is a witness in the case.
