MOSCOW, June 4 - RAPSI. Over the last two weeks, investigators in Moscow have exposed two officers in anticorruption units as guilty of fraud, a source from the law enforcement authorities told RIA Novosti on Monday.

The first suspect is a police lieutenant colonel who allegedly agreed to halt a company inspection for 1.3 million rubles ($38,500) in mid-May. The criminal case was opened on Sunday. "The head of the economic security investigative unit was detained on May 16 after receiving the bribe," said the source.

The second suspect was detained on June 1.

"Officers caught a police major in the Ostankino TV Center demanding 700,000 rubles ($20,750) for bypassing the audit of ASS-TV's business and financial operations," reported the source.
