MOSCOW, June 20 (RAPSI) - The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case following media reports of former Deputy Chief of the Moscow Regional Court Bailiffs Service Andrei Kaminov's alleged involvement in child abuse.

"The committee has started an inquiry into the alleged grooming of a child under 16. The media reports will be confirmed or disproved in the course of the investigation," RIA Novosti told Sergei Stukalov, official representative of the Investigative Committee in Moscow.

There is concrete defendant in the case so far.

The story was first brought to light by "pedophile hunters", volunteers looking to catch pedophiles by "setting baits". The group used a fake social media account, posing as a 14-year-old boy, to arrange a meeting with a man. Supposedly, the man that showed up for the arranged "date" in a Moscow apartment resembled Andrei Kaminov.

Previously, it was reported that Kaminov had resigned from the Courts Bailiff Service.
