MOSCOW, June 27 (RAPSI) - Michael Jackson's oldest son Prince testified in court that his father had said that AEG Live promoters would "kill" him as he rehearsed for an upcoming tour prior to his June 2009 death, the AFP reported Thursday.

On Wednesday the 16-year-old testified in a Los Angeles court, during his father's wrongful death trial.

According to the report, Michael was exhausted. Prince reportedly stated in court, "He just wished he had more time for rehearsals."

"He would cry sometimes. He said: "They're gonna kill me, they're gonna kill me," Prince reportedly stated.

The hearings began in April, when Michael Jackson's mother filed a lawsuit at the Los Angeles Superior Court, accusing AEG Live (Anschutz Entertainment Group) of negligently hiring Conrad Murray to care for the singer during his doomed "This Is It" shows.

She claims that AEG Live pushed her son too hard to prepare for the London shows, ultimately harming his physical and mental health.

Katherine Jackson and the singer's three children - Prince, 16, Paris, 15 and 11-year-old Blanket - want over $40 billion from AEG for loss of future earnings. AEG claims the figure is "preposterous."

Jackson died on June 25, 2009, aged 50, from an overdose of the powerful sedative propofol, which had been administered by Murray to help the singer deal with chronic insomnia.

At the time of his death, he was rehearsing for a series of 50 shows in London, organized by AEG Live in an attempt to revive his career and to ease his financial troubles.

Murray was convicted and jailed for involuntary manslaughter in 2011 for giving the singer an overdose of propofol.
