MOSCOW, October 28 - RAPSI, Dmitry Schchitov. The Rostov Region Commercial Court has fined the Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Rostov-on-Don gas supplier 52 million rubles ($1.73 million), the antimonopoly watchdog reported.

In November 2010, Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Rostov-on-Don broke competition law, according to the Federal Antimonopoly Service.

The gas supplier made calculations according to its consumption standards and not according to its utility meters. Earlier, the watchdog's decision on the company misusing its dominant position on the market was upheld by three court instances.

The watchdog made a report on the gas supply company's offenses and filed it jointly with its petition on the offenses to the Rostov Regional Commercial Court.
