MOSCOW, November 9 - RAPSI, Dmitry Shchitov. The Moscow Commercial Court has registered a bankruptcy application against the Avianova airline, the court told the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI).

The bankruptcy appeal was filed by the Averon company.

The court earlier awarded Averon 2.3 million rubles ($75,400) in a lawsuit against Avianova.

The Prosecutor General's Office opened a case against Avianova in October for delaying 15 flights on October 3 and 4. The case was sent to the Moscow Commercial Court for consideration.

The prosecutor's office reported that Avianova stopped selling tickets on October 2, while its general director told the Federal Air Transport Agency that the airline might cease operations on October 4. However, the airline later said it would carry out flights until October 9.

The prosecutor's office opened five administrative cases against Avianova in the Moscow Commercial Court.

The court found the airline guilty and fined it a total of 150,000 rubles ($4,900).
