MOSCOW, December 27 - RAPSI, Diana Gutsul. Former Moscow mayor Yuri Luzhkov has contested the dismissal of his defamation lawsuit against Presidential Administration head Sergei Naryshkin, Luzhkov's lawyer told the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI/rapsinews.com) on Tuesday.

Luzhkov sued Naryshkin for his statement about the alleged high-level corruption committed in Moscow government under Luzhkov and his administration.

Luzhkov's lawyer said earlier that his client had never committed corruption crimes and had never been prosecuted. Luzhkov believes that it is the law enforcement authorities that must fight corruption and it is only the police that can be accused of not doing it, the lawyer added.

Meanwhile, Naryshkin's lawyer told RAPSI that his client denied the lawsuit and considers it unfounded.
