MOSCOW, February 16 - RAPSI. The Federal Service for the Supervision of Natural Resources (Rosprirodnadzor) is expected to sue the Moscow Oil Refinery for $6.6 million for environmental pollution, the watchdog reported on Thursday.

In mid-December, the court dismissed the refinery's lawsuit against Rosprirodnadzor in which it claimed to have a permit for noxious emissions. The watchdog told the court that the refinery earlier obtained a permit from the Federal Service for Supervision of Environment, Technology and Nuclear Management. However, Rosprirodnadzor prohibited the Moscow Oil Refinery from discharging noxious substances after it was assigned with the task of granting the permit in 2010 as the refinery failed to meet the emissions reduction plan.

The Moscow Oil Refinery was fined 1.7 million rubles ($56,770) in 2011 as a result of an inspection revealing violations of environmental law.
