MOSCOW, February 24 - RAPSI. The police arrested an interregional hackers group which arranged DDOS-attacks and broke in social network accounts for money, the Interior Ministry's "K" Department reported on Friday.

The suspects offered breaking accounts in a variety of social networks, mail servers and websites, DDOS-atacks as well as secret observation and eavesdropping. Programs for these purposes were written both by the group members and occasional acquaintances met on specialized websites.

"In order to compensate for the programs cost they offered the software to their clients for 80,000 to 100,000 rubles ($2,700 - $3,360)," the department reports.

A resident of Tatarstan, who has a criminal record for online children's pornography distribution, obtained access to computer information and other members arranged DDOS-attacks.

Hackers advertised their services on the Internet and printed ads for mailbox distribution. They received money from clients via intermediaries.

The police have managed to identify all members of the group. The police have also searched their homes and taken computers, media containing malicious software, different corporate seals, radiofrequency scanners and other means to secretly obtain information.
