MOSCOW, February 27 - RAPSI, Sergei Feklyunin. The Moscow Commercial Court will hear on March 27 a $124,000 lawsuit filed by DataCenter against the mass media watchdog.

The lawsuit was filed on February 20.

DataCenter won the tender for the mass media monitoring system development invited by the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor).

However, Roskomnadzor earlier told RIA Novosti that the proposed system was rejected as it did not comply with the design specification and necessitated high labor costs during monitoring.

The service's assistant head Mikhail Vorobyov said that it requested DataCenter to return the funds it paid for the tender by late December.

He noted that the successful bidder proposed to develop the monitoring system for 4.6 million rubles ($157.72 million). Roskomnadzor so far transferred only part of the amount.

DataCenter claims the rest of the amount.

According to the lawyers asked by RIA Novosti, the disputes between customers and suppliers over quality of products and production time are a common practice.

RAPSI/rapsinews.ru has yet to obtain comments from DataCenter.
