MOSCOW, March 1 - RAPSI. The Moscow Commercial Court registered a lawsuit filed by the Likhachev (ZIL) Automobile Plant against its former managing company MAC to recover $40 million, the court told the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI/rapsinews.com) on Wednesday.

The claim was lodged on February 22 and its hearing date has yet to be scheduled. RAPSI/rapsinews.ru has failed to reach the parties for comments so far.

The business media reports that ZIL seeks the amount of unjust enrichment from MAC which managed the plant for eight years.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin stated in April that ZIL wage arrears amounted to 200 million rubles ($6.9 million) by the beginning of 2011, while the plant's CEO had 250 million ruble ($8.6 million) salary.

Sobyanin also said that Moscow had discharged the executive and appointed a new management at the plant.

Established in 1916, ZIL was Russia's first motor works.
