MOSCOW, April 3 - RAPSI. Retired judges should be employed as intermediaries in out-of-court reconciliation procedures, Presidential Adviser Veniamin Yakovlev said at a Tuesday roundtable discussion in RIA Novosti.

According to Yakovlev, there are many experienced retired judges, who could act as intermediaries in out-of-court reconciliatory negotiations.

In the initial stage of reconciliation, experts with a high reputation would "give a powerful impetus to develop and promote such useful mechanism for dispute and public conflict resolution."

Yakovlev noted that the court resolves issues by force, whereas mediation brings settlement by addressing the root cause.
