MOSCOW, April 13 - RAPSI. The Volga District Federal Commercial Court has validated a court resolution dismissing Media-Markt-Saturn's lawsuit to invalidate the antimonopoly watchdog's decision that its advertising was inappropriate.

The Samara Region Commercial Court validated on August 22 the Federal Antimonopoly Service's decision recognizing Media-Markt-Saturns advertising as inappropriate.

The Eleventh Commercial Court of Appeals confirmed on December 1 the lawfulness of the first-instance court's decision. The company disputed the judicial acts in the cassation instance.

According to the watchdog, Media-Markt-Saturn advertised its laptops on the DFM radio station. The advertisement was aired in Voronezh, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar and, Kazan and allegedly formed an inferiority complex among underage individuals who did not have the product.

Additionally, a 100,000 ruble ($3,380) fine was imposed against Media-Markt-Saturn on December 21, 2010. The watchdog's acts were contested by the company.

The Media Markt chain is part of the Media-Saturn-Holding GmbH and a trade subsidiary of Germany's Metro Group. In December 2006, Media Markt entered the Russian market to set up Media-Markt-Saturn as a Media-Saturn-Holding GmbH subsidiary.

Media-Saturn-Holding GmbH's trade turnover was 19 billion euro in 2008.

The Russian subsidiary's 2008 sales totaled 374 million euro.
