MOSCOW, April 26 - RAPSI. Bailiffs have confiscated nearly 60,000 nuisance items such as arms and explosives from court attendants in the first three months of 2012, the Federal Bailiff Service reports on Thursday.

They have confiscated 3,604 guns, 4,586 gas and traumatic guns, 2,984 knives, over 50,000 rounds of ammunition and 439 electric shockers. The bailiff service also prevented five attempts to bring explosives into the courtroom and detained 21 people for committing offenses inside courts.

A high-profile incident occurred in Moscow on April 23 when Muscovite Andrei Borodin, 36, burst into the office of Tagansky District Court Judge Yelena Ivanova and demanded that she release the members of the Pussy Riot punk gang. The man tried to hit the judge with an ax, but the woman resisted the assaulter and called for help.

The man was soon caught by bailiffs who arrived to help the woman. The man is now kept under detention.
