MOSCOW, May 15 - RAPSI. Left Front coordinator Sergei Udaltsov, who is currently serving a 15-day arrest for resisting police authority, has given up his hunger strike.

Udaltsov was detained on May 9 when he tried to take part in a street protest in downtown Moscow. He was charged with defying police orders and sentenced to 15 days in jail. Later he went on a "dry" hunger strike. He was hospitalized several times over the past weekend and then again on Monday.

Udaltsov's lawyer has said that his client is still in hospital and has quit his hunger strike. The lawyer had said previously that Udaltsov was getting worse every day and that he would need medical assistance to end his hunger strike.
