MOSCOW, June 14 - RAPSI. The Basmanny District Court has placed under detention until August 10 Oleg Arkhipenkov, who was arrested in the criminal case of the public unrest in central Moscow on May 6, the court told the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI/rapsinews.com).

The judge ruled for the investigators' request to place him under detention.

The police previously arrested six people involved in the public unrest. Eighteen-year-old Alexandra Dukhanina was also placed under house arrest.

The court is expected to consider four similar requests on Thursday.

Mass opposition rallies began in Moscow on May 6.

Clashes with the police flared up during a procession across Moscow, which was approved by the authorities. Tens of people on both sides were injured. The police detained over 400 protesters.
