MOSCOW, July 3 - RAPSI. The Moscow City Court extended on Tuesday until August 27 the arrest of State Atomic Energy Corporation former deputy head Evgeny Evstratov, who has been charged with misappropriating $1.5 million, the court told the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI/rapsinews.com).
Investigators maintain that Evstatov acted in collusion with several directors responsible for nuclear power engineering at federal enterprises. Evstatov had three accomplices, one of whom agreed to cooperate with the investigation and was released on his own recognizance.
The case has been investigated since mid-2010. Evsatratov was interrogated on several occasions as a witness. He said this was the reason why he quit Rosatom in April 2011.
