MOSCOW, July 11 - RAPSI. The Interior Ministry specified that the sentence for bribery has been passed on the intermediary of the IKEA division head, rather than the official himself.

Earlier, the ministry reported that Moscow's Dorogomilovsky District Court had reviewed a case of attempted commercial bribery combined with large-scale extortion and had sentenced the head of IKEA MOS leasing division, a Swedish national, to five years in prison.

"The convicted individual, Okan Yunalan, is a Turkish citizen, who was the intermediary in the transfer of an illegal remuneration," reads the message of the Main Department of Economic Security.

Yunalan was caught while unlawfully accepting 6.5 million rubles ($197,000) in April 2011 which he had demanded from a businessman for leasing him two premises in a Moscow Region retail center.

"The funds were for IKEA top manager Charles Ola," the message reads.

Two other suspects in the case - Swedish national Charles Ola and Turkish national Ferit Yildirim - have been placed on the federal wanted list, reports the Interior Ministry.
