MOSCOW, August 20 - RAPSI. On September 10, the Eleventh Commercial Court of Appeals will hear an appeal by the Federal Tax Service against a court ruling invalidating $7.5 mln in supplementary tax charges against Renault Samara, a court spokesperson told the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI/rapsinews.com).

The ruling was passed down by the Samara Regional Commercial Court in a Renault Samara lawsuit on July 4.

The service's October 20 decision to hold the company liable for tax violations was declared invalid as well as its request for the taxes, penalty interest and fines which amounted to 239.3 million rubles ($7.5 million) as of January 19.

The tax service held that the company unlawfully took advantage of a tax deduction based on its relationship as a tax agent under an agreement with French Renault S.A.S.
However, the court found that the tax service's position was not based on international law and ignored factual background.
