MOSCOW, September 5 - RAPSI. Opposition leader and whistleblower Alexei Navalny has been called to the Investigative Committee to familiarize himself with the new staff of the investigative group in the Kirovles case, his attorney Vadim Kobzev told the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI/rapsinews.com) Wednesday. Kobzev said a new investigator has been introduced in the case under which Navalny has been charged.

"The visit to the committee took no more than five minutes and was formal, and we do not know when we will be called again," the attorney said.

RIA Novosti has yet to obtain comments from the Investigative Committee.

Investigators have declared that Navalny, who at the time served as an adviser to the Kirov governor on a voluntary basis, plotted the embezzlement of Kirovles' property in collusion with Vyatskaya Lesnaya Kompaniya Director Pyotr Ofitserov and Kirovles CEO Vyacheslav Opalyov.

Investigators believe that over 10,000 cubic meters of Kirovles timber products were embezzled from May to September 2009, leading to 16 million rubles ($496,820) in regional budgetary losses.
