MOSCOW, September 26 - RAPSI. Law enforcement officers have detained an individual who allegedly introduced himself as a high-ranking executive and attempted to sell the position of a department deputy head in Russian oil giant Rosneft for €3 million, the Interior Ministry reported Wednesday.

According to the ministry, Boris Reizin, 46, unemployed, acted in collusion with Vladimir Zemlyanushin, 52, who devised the scheme.

"In September... the suspects offered a businessman the post of department deputy head in Rosneft for 3 million euros. Police officers have documentary evidence of Reizin's receipt of a 2 million ruble ($64,000) deposit in a Moscow restaurant," reads the statement.

It also says that the Reizin's supposed accomplice went abroad before the deposit was received and his whereabouts have yet to be determined.

A criminal case has been opened against Reizin and Zemlyanushin on charges of fraud. They face up to 10 years in prison.

The ministry is looking into whether they were involved in any other unlawful dealings.
