MOSCOW, October 31 - RAPSI. The Moscow Basmanny District Magistrate's Court has fined oppositionist Alexei Navalny 30,000 rubles ($955) for organizing an unauthorized rally on October 27, his attorney Vadim Kobzev told the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI/rapsinews.com).

"On October 27 Navalny just stood by the building of the Federal Security Service. It was a one-man picket, which, as you know, is not forbidden by the law. Then he and Ilya Yashin just started walking, and a crowd of journalists walked by them, and it was taken for a rally," Kobzev said. The attorney said that he will appeal against the ruling.

A series of one-man pickets in support of political prisoners was held in central Moscow on Saturday. According to the organizers' plan, people were supposed to stand holding posters 50 meters away from each other from Lubyansky Passazh to Tekhnichesky Pereulok, where the Investigative Committee is located. Udaltsov and a number of other oppositionists, including Alexei Navalny and Ilya Yashin, were detained.

It was announced today that a magistrates' court will consider the case against Udaltsov on November 15.
