MOSCOW, November 7 - RAPSI. The Moscow City Court extended the arrest of Nikolay Savelyev, one of the alleged organizers of the kidnapping of the son of businessman and prominent software developer Yevgeny Kaspersky, the court's press service told the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI/rapsinews.com).

The court will be considering the investigators' motion to extend the custody of the other suspects in the case in the nearest future.

The investigation into the case is now over and the defendants are familiarizing themselves with the case materials.

Savelyev has admitted his guilt, but has stressed that he is only guilty on certain counts.

Ivan Kaspersky, the twenty year-old son of Kaspersky Laboratory CEO was kidnapped on April 19. He was released on April 24 after a special operation was carried out in the area of the Moscow Region where he was kept.

Law enforcement authorities said five individuals suspected of kidnapping were detained. They were charged with kidnapping and extortion.

Vladimir Markin, the Investigative Committee's official spokesperson, said in a previous statement that the suspicion that the kidnapping was arranged by Yevgeny Kaspersky's competitors proved to be false. Two of the suspects have fully admitted their guilt. One of them said his involvement in the crime was down to his urgent need of money. The kidnappers had asked for a ransom of three million euros.

All the detained individuals were unemployed, two of them have previous criminal records.
