MOSCOW, December 3 - RAPSI. Attorney Igor Trunov, who represents the interests of Yelena Krivolutskaya, who was severely injured in a terrorist attack at the Domodedovo airport in January 2011, has asked the court to involve airport owner Dmitry Kamenshchik in the consideration of her lawsuit to recover 50 million rubles ($1.6 million) in compensation, he told the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI/rapsinews.com) on Monday.

During the preliminary hearings at the Presnensky District Court, the attorney asked the court to attract to the case DME Ltd., which owns the airport, and the sole beneficiary owner Dmitry Kamenshchik.

Domodedovo and the Passenger Terminal have objected and submitted a package of documents against the initiative.

Trunov asked the court for time to study the documents, as well as to specify their claims, as they plan to attract the airport's insurance company to the case.

On December 20, the court will proceed with the preliminary hearings, Trunov said.

The 49-year-old woman was at the epicenter of the explosion at the airport, but managed to survive. She was heavily injured and taken to an intensive care unit. She had to undergo several operations, and eventually lost her capacity to work. She has been granted an official disabled status.

"The victim is still undergoing treatment and she cannot move freely on her own. She is experiencing physical pain and is suffering emotionally, all of which requires expensive treatment," her attorney said.

On January 24, 2011, a suicide bomber detonated a bomb in the airport's international arrivals hall, killing 37 people and injuring 172.

According to Investigative Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin, the terrorist act was organized by Doku Umarov, the head of the Emarat Kavkaz (the Caucasus Emirate) terrorist group.
