MOSCOW, December 4 - RAPSI. The Moscow Magistrate's Court has fined Left Front movement coordinator Sergei Udaltsov 30,000 rubles ($972) for holding an unauthorized rally in Moscow on October 27, the renowned opposition figure told the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI/rapsinews.com) on Tuesday.

He said that he was detained on the day of the rally not far from the headquarters of Federal Security Service (FSB) during a single-person picket in support of political prisoners.

The court found Udaltsov guilty of violating the established order for organizing and holding rallies.

A series of one-man pickets in support of political prisoners was held in Moscow in October.

According to the organizers, individuals were to stand holding posters 50 meters away from each other from Lubyansky Passazh to Tekhnichesky Pereulok, where the Investigative Committee is located.

Udaltsov and a number of other opposition figures, including Alexei Navalny and Ilya Yashin, were detained.

Navalny was fined 30,000 rubles for holding the rally.
