MOSCOW, October 28 (RAPSI) - The Moscow District Federal Commercial Court has upheld the Russian Federal Migration Service's ruling to fine McDonald's 300,000 rubles ($9,470) for employing an illegal immigrant without a work permit, the court told RAPSI on Monday.

The company has appealed previous decisions of the Moscow Commercial Court and the appeals court in cassation instance.

On January 22, the Federal Migration Service's Moscow Department inspected the fast food chain for compliance with migration law.

The inspectors established that the chain hired a woman from Kyrgyzstan who did not have a work permit and imposed an administrative fine on the company. According to the law on the legal status of foreign nationals in Russia, employers are only allowed to hire foreigners who have work permits.

The courts studied the case materials and agreed with the inspectors conclusion, thus rejecting the company's arguments that the woman showed documents in another persons name when she applied for the job.
