MOSCOW, August 18 (RAPSI) - The Moscow Region Commercial Court has granted in part a lawsuit filed by S.B.A. Music Publishing, a subsidiary of Warner Music Russia, against IKEA, RAPSI learnt in the court on Monday.

S.B.A. Music Publishing claimed copyright infringement and demanded 250,000 rubles (over $6,900) in damages. The court held that the company was entitled to 50,000 rubles (over $1,300).

The lawsuit was filed over a video produced by Sibweek company for IKEA Novosibirsk. It featured "That’s The Way (I Like it)" by Finch Richards and Casey Harry while S.B.A. Music Publishing owns the rights to the song.

IKEA refused to acknowledge the infringement because the controversial video was posted on the website of the producing company and Sibweek’s account on YouTube. IKEA argued that it could not be held responsible for the content of external websites.
