MOSCOW, September 1 (RAPSI) - Yliopiston apteekki (University Pharmacy), owned by the University of Helsinki, has filed a lawsuit with Russia's Intellectual Property Court seeking early termination of protection of YA trademark registered by Lebedyansky juice maker, controlled by PepsiCo, RAPSI learnt in th court on Monday.

The preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 29.

University Pharmacy requests early termination of the trademark protection with respect to the goods of class 29 (meat, fish, poultry), class 30 (coffee, tea, cocoa) and class 32 (beer, juice) of the Nice Classification.

University Pharmacy’s turnover in Finland totalled 274,0 million euros. The pharmacy fee levied on medicine sales amounted to 25,3 million euros. University Pharmacy’s net profit in 2013 totalled 13,6 million euros, the entire amount of which was submitted to the University of Helsinki.
