MOSCOW, September 15 (RAPSI) – The girls who yesterday stripped to the waist in a central Moscow polling station in support of Ukraine will be held civilly liable, Interfax has announced, citing a source with inside information.

The source said that three girls had been taken to a police station where they were charged with committing a civil offence. The girls will face a trial soon.

Alexander Brod, head of the human rights NGO Citizens Watch, later said the girls were from the Femen movement, which is known for its scandalous actions.

However, Femen refuted that information, saying they “did not send its sextremists to the polling station in Moscow” and that the girls whose photographs were posted online “have no connection with Femen.”

September 14 was the single all-Russian voting day. Russia held about 6,000 local elections of different levels, including the elections of 30 out of 85 heads of Russian regions and 14 regional parliaments.
