MOSCOW, October 14 (RAPSI) – The Moscow City Court on Wednesday sentenced Ukrainian national Yury Soloshenko to six years in prison for espionage, RAPSI reported from the courtroom.

Soloshenko will not appeal the court ruling, his lawyer Gennady Blokhin told journalists.

The details have not been disclosed because the case materials are confidential and the hearings were held behind closed doors.

Reportedly, Soloshenko (born 1942) was going to deliver some Russian weapons to Ukraine. He has been arrested in Moscow during his meeting with a “business partner” from the Defense Ministry of Russia, according to the media.

Soloshenko has pleaded guilty.

Before his arrest last summer Soloshenko reportedly was a director of Ukraine's defense enterprise Znamya.
