MOSCOW, October 19 (RAPSI) – Russian citizen convicted of embezzlement in absentia by a Novosibirsk court was arrested in Thai city of Pattaya by local police on Interpol request, RIA Novosti reported Monday.

Evgeny Yukin was sentenced in absentia to two years in prison in March 2015 in Novosibirsk for large scale embezzlement executed by an organized criminal group. He was put on the Interpol wanted list in August 2015.

Yukin will be transferred to Russian Interpol representatives and deported to homeland soon, Russian embassy representative Vladimir Sosnov said.
