MOSCOW, January 29 (RAPSI) – Russian courts closed 25 websites and 7 webpages that were selling alcohol through the Internet, RIA Novosti reported on Friday.

Lawsuits against the websites were filed by the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) branches in several Russian regions including Orengurg, Voronezh and Krasnoyarsk Krai.

According to Russian legislation, sale of alcohol products via distant purchase, including Internet, is prohibited.
