MOSCOW, July 11 (RAPSI) – The Court of Arbitration for Sports will make a final decision in the case over Maria Sharapova’s two-year ineligibility due to violation of anti-doping rules in September, the press-release of the court reads.

In early March, former world number one tennis player Maria Sharapova was named among athletes who failed a doping test for meldonium.

On June 6, the International Tennis Federation (ITF) decided to sanction her with a period of ineligibility. Three days later this decision was appealed by Sharapova.

Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that allegations of doping against Russian best sportsmen are politically motivated.
