MOSCOW, August 12 (RAPSI, Lyudmila Klenko) – The Moscow City Court had found the ATAKA movement to be extremist and prohibited it from carrying out activities in the territory of the Russian Federation, the court’s press-secretary told RAPSI on Friday.

“The Moscow City Court has found the Russian National Association ATAKA to be extremist one and banned it in the territory of the Russian Federation,” he said.

According to the court’s press-secretary, the claim was lodged by the Moscow City Prosecutor. Representatives of the Justice Ministry and Federal Security Service were involved in the trial as third parties. 

In May, ten members of the movement  received suspended sentences ranging from 1.5 to 3 years for extremism.
