MOSCOW, November 8 (RAPSI) – Moscow’s Presnensky District Court has issued an arrest warrant in absentia for Russian businessman Solomon Manashirov, who stands charged with tax evasion amounting to 100 million rubles ($1.6 million), the court’s spokesperson Anastasia Pylina told RAPSI on Tuesday.

The court has also seized monetary funds and real property belonging to the businessman.

In 2015, Manashirov’s brother Gennady (Roman) was detained by court on charges of giving a 2 million-ruble bribe ($31,300) to the Interior Ministry’s investigators. He pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him.

The brothers are owners of Moscow’s shopping malls Prazhsky and Columbus and furniture center Armada.
