MOSCOW, January 11 (RAPSI) – Russia’s Intellectual Property Court (IP Court) has granted a lawsuit filed by the Hong Kong firm Goldstar Electronics Company against Panasonic over early termination of legal protection of “National” trademark, the court’s ruling reads on Wednesday.

The court on the plaintiff’s request terminated the brand protection on goods, including recording, transferring and reproduction of sound or images; magnetic data carriers, recording discs, data processing equipment and computers. IP court noted that the defendant did not react to the lawsuit and did not provide evidence of using the trademark or arguments specifying why it was not used.

The lawsuit was filed on April 26. Goldstar told the court that it is interested in using “National” trademark and noted that Panasonic was not using it for three years prior to the legal dispute.
