MOSCOW, October 12 (RAPSI) – A prosecutor demanded a 12-year prison term for former police officer from the Moscow Region Vadim Shavlokhov, charged with receiving $100,000 in bribes and abuse of authority, RAPSI learnt in Moscow’s Zamoskvoretsky District Court on Friday.

Additionally, the prosecutor asked the court to fine the defendant, deprive him of a special rank, and prohibit the man from holding posts in state bodies for 10 years.

According to investigation, in July 2013, Shavlokhov, then major case detective of the Interior Ministry’s Criminal Investigation Department, gave an alleged leader of the organized-crime syndicate, a document containing information on his criminal gang for $100,000.

Shavlokhov pleaded not guilty claiming that the case was fabricated and that he was working against all criminal groups the whole life.
