MOSCOW, May 7 (RAPSI) – A criminal case has been opened over unlawful appropriation of the Defense Ministry's property worth over 46 million rubles ($732,000), the press service of the Chief Military Prosecutor's Office reports Monday.

In February and August 2017, authorities of one of the villages in Murmansk Region submitted forged documents to the Federal Agency for State Registration, Cadaster, and Cartography, according to the Northern Fleet military prosecutor’s office. Thus, information on the municipal settlement’s right to 19 property items valued at more than 46 million rubles was presented to the Unified State Register of Immovable Property. Prosecutors claim that the property belonged to the Defense Ministry.

Moreover, the Northern Fleet military prosecutor has filed claims for recovery of the ministry’s property held in adverse possession with the Murmansk Region Commercial Court. One of the lawsuits concerning a building worth over 8 million rubles has been already considered and granted, the statement reads.
