MOSCOW, June 26 (RAPSI) – The Lyublinsky District Court of Moscow on Monday granted a defamation lawsuit filed by billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov against opposition politician Alexey Navalny, RAPSI reported from the courtroom.

The court recovered 1 ruble ($0.01) from Navalny and ordered him to refute information released on navalny.com and youtube.com websites within 10 days. Moreover, the court held that the defendant must record a video with him reading a judicial disposition and publish it on these Internet resources.

Prokhorov’s lawsuit concerned a video statement made by Navalny alleging that Prokhorov bought an overpriced villa in Italy from ex-Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexander Khloponin.

Businessman asked the court to make Navalny refute his statements, publish the court ruling on his website and recover 1 ruble from the defendant.

“We are not against freedom of speech and don’t ask to delete the video, we ask to publish the court ruling on the same webpage,” Prokhorov’s lawyer Timofey Gridnev told RAPSI earlier.
