MOSCOW, September 28 (RAPSI) – A court in Makhachkala on Friday placed Radzhab Abdulatipov, the brother of ex-head of Dagestan Ramazan Abdulatipov and lawmaker of the republic’s People's Assembly, in detention for two months, the press service of Russia’s Investigative Committee reported.

According to the Investigative Committee, Abdulatipov is suspected of participation in a criminal gang. The gang members allegedly took bribes for illegal disability confirmation for citizens. Moreover, they were involved in forgery, investigators stated.

If convicted, Abdulatipov could face up to 10 years in prison.

Earlier, the chief of the republican medical and social assessment service Magomed Makhachev was arrested as part of the case.
