MOSCOW, November 21 (RAPSI) – The Rostov Regional Court has given a 2-year suspended sentence to a magistrate judge emeritus Sergey Mazurov for mediation in bribery, the court’s spokesperson Dina Bobrova has told RAPSI.

Additionally, Mazurov has received a 2-year probation period, she has added.

According to investigators, in March 2017, the magistrate judge using his position and having a criminal intention received 100,000 rubles ($100,000) for their onward transmission as a bribe to a chief of the Interior Ministry investigation department for the town of Novoshakhtinsk. It was expected that the bribed investigator would drop fraud charges against a local citizen.
