MOSCOW, March 11 (RAPSI) – The Moscow City Court has dismissed an appeal filed by Sergey Gribinyuchenko, ex-head of the Moscow Region’s Pushkino District, against his detention in a bribery case, the court’s press service has told RAPSI.

Thus, Gribinyuchenko will stay in detention until April 18,

According to investigators, on February 18, the official took $20,000 as a bribe from a person acting under the police control in one of the Moscow Region’s mall. The illegal gratification was geared up for the protection of one of firms during execution of municipal contracts signed with the Pushkino Distrist’s administration.

Gribinyuchenko was arrested after receiving the bribe.

At the time of his arrest Gribinyuchenko was an acting mayor of Dzerzhinsky town in the Moscow Region.
