MOSCOW, March 28 (RAPSI) – Investigators have petitioned for the house arrest of the former governor of Russia’s Khabarovsk Region Victor Ishayev allegedly involved in money embezzlement from Rosneft oil company until May 27, according to the spokesperson of Moscow’s Basmanny District Court Yunona Tsareva.

The court will hear the motion on Thursday.

The Investigative Committee has already brought charges against Ishayev. 

From 2013 to 2018, Ishayev was a vice-president of Rosneft. According to investigators, between 2014 and 2017, he fraudulently ensured signing of premises lease agreements for the company office’s use in the Khabarovsk Region at an overvalued price. The contracts were concluded with Ishayev’s firm.

The Federal Security Service (FSB) and investigators conduct searches as part of the case. Investigation is underway.
