Navalny’s appeal against order to refute information discrediting meat plant put on hold
MOSCOW, April 1 (RAPSI) – The Ninth Commercial Court of Appeals has abandoned an appeal lodged by Russian opposition blogger Alexey Navalny against a lower court’s order to delete and refute information discrediting business standing of the Crimean meat processing plant Druzhba Narodov until April 26, according to court records.
The appeal has been set aside because of its improper execution.
The Moscow Commercial Court ruled in favor of Druzhba Narodov on February 12. The court declared information distributed by Navalny in one of his videos untrue.
The statements read that the meat processing plant inflated prices for food products purveyed for the National Guard, delivered bad quality goods and accused the plant employees of embezzlement during supplies.
According to the court ruling, the defendant did not furnish evidence of credibility of the disseminated information.
