MOSCOW, July 5 (RAPSI) – Moscow’s Lefortovsky District Court on Friday ordered an assistant to the presidential envoy in the Ural Federal District Alexander Vorobyev to be detained until September 4 on treason allegations, the court’s press service told RAPSI.

The hearing was held behind closed doors as the case is marked as confidential. Details have not been revealed yet.

According to the Ural Federal District’s website, Vorobyev, 39, holds a candidate of legal sciences degree. In the summer of 2018, he was appointed as the assistant to the presidential envoy in the Ural Federal District.

He could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
