MOSCOW, October 2 (RAPSI) – Moscow’s Basmanny District Court on Wednesday detained Sergey Grigoryev, who stands accused of killing an investigator Vladislav Kapustin, until December 1, the court’s spokesperson Yunona Tsareva told RAPSI.

The court therefore granted a motion filed by investigators.

On Tuesday, a criminal case was opened over an assault on colonel Kapustin with the use of a knife in the Investigative Committee’s building. According to the Investigative Committee’s statement, the victim was attacked during the reception of citizens. He was taken to a hospital but died there.

The alleged criminal was immediately arrested and questioned. According to the preliminary information, the suspect is registered at a psychoneurologic dispensary. During the arrest, he behaved inadequately. A mental examination is to be conducted, the Investigative Committee’s press service reported.

The man was charged with infringement on the life of a law enforcement employee.
